This Privacy Policy explains how Game Warrior collects, uses, and protects information when you visit the website, create an account, post content, upload files, or use community features.
1. Information We Collect
When you register or update your profile, we may collect your username, email address, password, favorite game, optional private contact details such as phone number, address, city, state or region, postal code, country, and account settings. Passwords are stored as hashes, not as plain text. If you create blog posts, upload files, or use other community features, we also collect the content and files you choose to share.
2. Account and Session Information
Game Warrior uses sessions to keep you logged in, show account-specific pages, track basic rank progress, and display online Warrior status. The site may also use a small browser storage value to help handle logout behavior.
3. How We Use Information
We use your information to create and manage your account, display your profile and posts, support site features, protect the website from abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve the community experience.
Optional private contact details are not required to join Game Warrior and are not shown on your public channel or social page. They may be used later for account support, verification, event, shipping, billing, or other account tools if those features are added.
4. Steam Account Linking and Game Data
If you choose to connect Steam or create a Steam-based Game Warrior account, Steam authenticates your Steam account through its OpenID service. Game Warrior does not receive or store your Steam password. We store your verified SteamID and may store public Steam profile details such as your display name, profile URL, and avatar so the connection can appear on your Game Warrior account.
A Steam-based Game Warrior account does not use a separate Game Warrior password. Access to that account depends on successful authentication through the linked Steam account. Steam does not provide your email address to Game Warrior, so you must provide an email address when completing registration.
You may separately choose whether Game Warrior retrieves and publicly displays your owned or recently played games and playtime. This game data is requested from Steam only after you enable that option, is subject to your Steam privacy settings, and may be held in a short-lived server cache to reduce Steam API requests. It is not permanently stored by Game Warrior. You can turn the display off or disconnect Steam from your profile at any time. Disconnecting deletes the stored Steam account link.
Steam-linked account data is stored with the Game Warrior account database on servers located in the United States. Steam data is provided by Valve on an as-is and as-available basis. Game Warrior is independent from and is not endorsed by Valve.
5. Public Content
Information you post publicly, such as blog posts, usernames, uploaded files, favorite games, or community activity, may be visible to other Warriors or visitors. Please avoid sharing private information in public areas of the site.
6. Profile Visibility and Social Features
Account privacy controls may let you choose whether selected profile snapshot details, such as rank, member-since date, and favorite games, appear publicly, to accepted friends, or only to you. Channel discovery details such as channel name, avatar, banner, bio, stream status, schedule, video count, Watch Channel, Add Friend, and Watching Chat remain visible so Warriors can find channels and use community features.
Friends, watched channels, recent social activity, forum activity, reactions, and live or channel signals may appear in account, channel, or social hub areas depending on the feature and your current settings. Removing a friend or unwatching a channel changes those relationship lists going forward, but it does not remove public posts, replies, uploads, reports, or other community content you already created.
7. Analytics and Cookies
Game Warrior uses Google Analytics to understand site traffic, page activity, outbound clicks, searches, scrolling, device and browser types, and approximate visitor location. Google Analytics may use cookies, including the _ga cookie, to recognize visits and measure sessions. Game Warrior uses this information to improve the website and does not use Google Analytics for ad personalization.
Your browser may let you block or delete cookies. Google also provides tools and browser settings that can limit Analytics data collection.
8. Sharing Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information if required by law, needed to protect Game Warrior or its Warriors, or necessary to operate the website through hosting, database, security, or technical service providers.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect account and site data. No website can guarantee perfect security, so you should use a strong password and keep your login information private.
10. Your Choices
You can update your profile information and profile visibility while logged in. If you want help changing, removing, or reviewing account information, please contact us through the Contact Us page.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the site changes. When we make updates, we will change the date shown on this page. Continued use of Game Warrior after an update means you accept the revised policy.
